Five stars aren’t enough! The food was outstanding—from the patte and onion soup to the pepper steak and desserts. Our group of seven tried nearly everything, and every dish was flawless. Absolutely delicious! This place is a must-try, and we’ll definitely be coming back soon. More

Excellent selection of classic French cuisine, prepared deliciously with a delicate balance of all the various ingredients. The ambiance is very nice and cosy.
Excellent service with knowledgeable staff. Our waitress was able to advise us on the menu and the chef came around and greeted the tables. A very personal experience.

Delicious food as always, the beef Wellington is always incredible and cooked perfectly to customers request. Staff are delightful but service very very slow in the night we attended. Table booked at 6 and we were still eating at 9.30. It’s a small restaurant and gets very very busy and noise level not for the faint hearted

Really lovely place with a very friendly (and French) waitress. The food was really tasty. We had the snails and the beef Wellington. The snails portion is huge, which is great, but they could do with more garlic. The general feel and ambiance was really pleasant. It is BYO only so be sure to take a special bottle :)

My husband chose this fine dining to celebrate our anniversary. The ambiance is cozy but has poor ventilation and bad (or may be non-functional) air conditioning which made the atmosphere quite uncomfortable. It was extremely warm and stuffy (the staffs’ faces were shining probably due to sweating).
They gave us a complimentary entree (chicken liver pate). Well, that was tasty. The rest of the food were enjoyable, though not remarkable. We ordered the set menu, and while the entrees and crème brûlée stood out, the main courses were disappointing. One good thing was they allow BYO (corkage fee is $5.50).
Despite the pleasant moments and nice entrees, the overall experience didn’t meet my expectations, and I wouldn’t consider returning.

This one is a true gem of a find. We love French food and to come to a place that does something so well with hospitality and service to match is simply priceless and one to have on repeat:
The menu is to point and everything we tried was superb. We did all three courses and because this is BYO you can pair this with your favourite drop.
The photos say it all.
The ambiance is eclectically French and the service comes with a genuine smile and warmth:

I visited this restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday. It's a cozy spot with pleasant decor, but unfortunately, the airflow is poor and the air conditioning doesn't seem to function properly.
During our visit, it was uncomfortably warm, and even the waitstaff were visibly sweating.
On the culinary front, while the food was tasty, it didn't quite reach the level of extraordinary. We ordered the set menu but the standout for me were the prawns and creme brulee.
Additionally, they graciously provided a complimentary dessert with a candle for my friend's birthday, which was a thoughtful gesture. One thing to note is that it's a BYO restaurant, but they charge a corkage fee of $5.50, which I personally found to be a bit on the pricey side.
Overall, despite the minor drawbacks, we had a pleasant dining experience.

5 stars for the food.
Minus 1 star for service.
Let's get the elephant in the room out of the way. We waited a long time for the mains to be served. The waitress made a mistake and served my Beef Wellington to another table. She only realised the mistake 2 mins later and took the plate away from them and brought it to us. In a normal non-covid circumstance, I wouldn't be too fussy. But in this environment, it is a potential health risk. I wasnt even sure if that table dipped their fork or spoon into my main. The waitress apologised so I'm not gonna make too much noise. But the owner has to be aware of this incident.
Now for the positives. This place definitely serve high quality, classic French dishes. There are not many places that serves Beef Wellington, not to mention a good one. This place does it perfectly. Buttery pastry, smooth and rich pate and a perfectly cooked medium rare fillet. The lamb brain was one of the best I have had, delicate yet flavourful. My favourite is the Creme Brulee. Many French restaurants dont put enough sugar to make the crust. Chez Maurice on the other hand, puts too much sugar. But I absolutely love the overly sweet, hard crusted, eggy, creamy Creme Brulee. Definitely A+ place. I love Hubert, it is one of my favourite French restaurants in Sydney, but I think they can learn a thing or two from Chez Maurice....

First time here, attentive service and the food was amazing! Great that it's BYO. Had the 3 courses and was very reasonably priced. I can see what the previous reviewers mean about the air circulation. It does get quite warm when the restaurant's full. But I'll definitely be back! More

My favourite french restaurant in Australia for the food quality and value (though France Soir in Melbourne has a Parisian vibe).
I came again for my birthday with my husband and had another excellent meal.
Complimentary pate and toasted bread is the perfect welcome to Chez Maurice etc Linda and a wonderful maitre de - she gave us excellent service all night in a packed restaurant.
For starters we had the sauteed prawns with garlic and parsley served with steamed rice - sensational. And for main course I had the Chateaubriand with bernaise sauce and my husband had the filet de bouuf wellington - both perfectly cooked and so yummy. We love the green beans and potatoes they are served with.
Byo is great.
Lol, my absolute favourite dish which I had been craving before going was surprisingly out of stock - it is the pan fried brains with garlic and parsley - with my friends suggesting that they might have all been shipped to the US!
